1. When using polyacrylamide, prepare an aqueous solution with a concentration of 0.1-0.3%. It is best to use neutral water free of salts and impurities. If the on-site dissolution equipment is small, a slightly higher concentration (<0.6%) can be prepared, and then diluted again before use. 2. When dissolving polyacrylamide, add it slowly and evenly to the water phase with stirring. The stirring speed should not be too strong (the linear velocity of the stirring blade end should be controlled below 8 meters/second) to avoid reducing the shear force of polyacrylamide; adding too quickly will also cause clumping and form "fish eyes". 3. The water temperature should not exceed 40℃; room temperature is sufficient. 4. The prepared polyacrylamide solution should not be stored for too long; cationic PAM should not be stored for more than one day, and anionic PAM should not be stored for more than two days to avoid degradation; 5. The PAM solution should not come into contact with iron ions, as iron ions are catalysts that can accelerate the decomposition of polyacrylamide. 6. When pumping the solution, it is recommended to use a diaphragm or screw pump (because high-speed centrifugal pump blades can easily degrade polyacrylamide). 7. Polyacrylamide aqueous solution should be prepared and used immediately. When the solution is left for a long time, the performance of polyacrylamide will gradually decrease depending on the water quality. |
